The Corner

Wfb@80

So many of us know and appreciate that William F. Buckley Jr. has made a tremendous contribution to us all. And yet, it is a rare day when we remember the Cold War impact and Laugh In appearances. Mother Teresa interviews and Robin Williams impressions.

As if just changing the course of American policy weren’t enough, WFB has been a cultural presence. A part of the lives of people who will (for shame!) never read NR, in addition to all those who do (Bless you). We were able to do a bit of that tonight in celebrating WFB’s birthday. That’s a great treat, a nudge, and an inspiration.

If you missed dinner, read some of the flashback pieces we have up on the homepage and will keep up through the weekend and read Miles Gone By. I’m nearly willing to offer a personal money-back guarantee because I know you’ll be glad you did.
