WH: ‘True’ That Not Everybody Will Keep His Health-Care Plan

The White House admitted that it is moving the goalposts on its original vow that, as President Obama said so many times, “If you like your health-care plan, you can keep your health-care plan.” When pressed about reports of Americans being dropped from their plans, White House press secretary Jay Carney explained that, in fact, some Americans will not be able to keep their plans as a result of the law’s mandates.

“It’s true that there are existing health-care plans on the individual market that don’t meet the minimum standards and therefore do not qualify for the Affordable Care Act,” Carney told reporters on Monday afternoon.

Former Obama adviser David Axelrod said earlier Monday that, under Obamacare, “most people” will be able to keep their plans.
