Because of the Labor Day weekend, I had to write today’s USA Today column last week (linked in the indispensable NRO Web Briefing below). They wanted me to do a forward-looking piece on what Bush can and should do in the time he has left. I asked a bunch of conservatives and Republicans and the answer was basically twofold: “Not much” and/or “win in Iraq.” A few folks suggested reining-in spending and the like, but basically the consensus was that Iraq is everything. Anyway, here’s the column for what it’s worth.
