What Is The Heinz-Buckley Rule?

My friend

Jack Heinz and I, having appreciated the

same wines on a hundred different occasions ,

made a pact a dozen years ago that we would

limit our purchasing to white wines we could

get for three dollars a bottle, red wines for

four dollars a bottle. Those who have feasted

at Jack Heinz’s table will believe that if this

story is true, Mr. Heinz has mastered not only

the art of making ketchup, but also of

alchemy. Not fair. He has a cellar of vintage

wines he raids for special occasions .We are

talking about rule-of-thumb drinking…
