What If

The GOP primaries could have looked totally different if George Allen hadn’t lost his Senate race in 2006. Or they could have looked exactly the same, but with Allen in the Fred Thompson slot. At any rate, today Allen answered a question about his short-term political future: He said he won’t run for governor of Virginia in 2009, as he apparently had been thinking of doing.
