What JP II Said–and What He Didn’t

A question that keeps coming up:  Whether the Catholic church has or has not condemned the death penalty.  (Answer:  It hasn’t.)  For a wonderfully thorough but still entirely readable explanation, look here.  (In the final paragraph, “Pre-16” refers to then Cardinal Ratzinger, writing before he became Benedict XVI.)
