What’s on Americans’ Minds

The Gallup survey of people’s opinions on “the most important problem facing the country today” has been full of bad news for the Democrats all year, and it just got worse. “High cost of living/Inflation” continues to be the top answer, given by 20 percent of respondents in October — up from 17 percent in September. The “economy in general” has jumped from 12 to 18 percent over the same month. Immigration rose a bit, from 6 to 8. Abortion dropped from 4 to 3 — and presumably some of the people who say abortion is the nation’s biggest problem oppose it. I don’t see any good news for the Democrats in these numbers.
