I’d be curious what longtime Daniels watchers think, but I was surprised to hear that Mitch Daniels seems to have endorsed a Value Added Tax last night during a Hudson Institute speech here in Washington. I assume he said it because he thinks it’s a good idea. But I also wonder if the strategy in it is to make up a little for his social-issue “truce” talk with an idea flat-tax Huckabee voters could warm to?
