Last night I mentioned emails I had received asking where Michelle Obama was during Thursday’s 9/11 memorial ceremony at the site of the World Trade Center. (The ceremony featured Barack Obama and John and Cindy McCain, along with Michael Bloomberg.) I asked Team Obama about it last night, and they told me Michelle Obama was at home in Chicago for their daughters’ first week of school. I should point out that Mrs. Obama had no public events on her schedule on Monday and Tuesday, but on Wednesday, she took part in a “Roundtable Discussion on the Economy with Indiana Working Women” in Fishers, Indiana, and she addressed the National Baptist Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to her schedule, she had no public events on Thursday and Friday.
