Where’s John Adams, for Crying Out Loud?

With the national political conventions just a few weeks away, Uncommon Knowledge thought it would prove wise, and calming, to spend a week with Rick Brookhiser.  NR’s longtime senior editor is the author of nearly a dozen books, including What Would the Founders Do?, and, most recently, George Washington on Leadership.

In today’s segment, we discuss why America was able to produce such brilliant, prescient, and judicious founders when no other nation has ever come close?  As President Bush reportedly asked about the post-Saddam government of Iraq, “Where’s George Washington?  Where’s Thomas Jefferson?  Where’s John Adams, for crying out loud?”

Watch Rick answer the President—and learn.
