I gather that we are cursed by having too many people in America who are not citizens, and even more cursed when a few of those too many people go into the armed forces to serve and protect and defend the United States of America. I gather that Malthus was right and that Cromwell was too. What I want to know is: When exactly did I join the New Left? Did I miss the memo? P.S. Thank you all for the kind messages about the birth of my second daughter, Shiri — who, for all I know, was the 300 millionth American, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
