Also in today’s column, I do some whining about an old friend of ours — media bias. And then I say how much I dislike whining (although I like the causes of whining less). I was sort of tickled by this note from a reader:
Jay,
I hate that term “whining” about media bias. If someone were to stick a pencil in your eye every day, are you supposed to just accept it? “There you go again, whining about the pencil in your eye!” You’re labeled a whiner while they get away with the offense.
Hmmm . . . I think I’ll whine some more, in good conscience . . .
P.S. Remember when Charles Barkley said, “Aw, give me some cheese to go with that whining”?
