Notwithstanding all of the rhetoric from the U.N., G-8, and disparate Western nations, the only countries that realistically stood in the way of Iran’s development of a nuclear weapon were the United States and Israel. The serial supplications by the Obama administration make it increasingly plain that the U.S. can’t be counted on to take meaningful measures to prevent a nuclear Iran. That leaves the task to Israel.
That it should be left to that tiny nation to keep the world safe from an Ahmadinejad nuke is an abomination.
At what point does the administration maintain that Iran’s nuclear program has become unacceptable? When Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt announce their own nuclear programs? When the price of oil doubles? When Hezbollah implies it has access to a nuke? It would be helpful to know the benchmarks.
