Asked by Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher about MSNBC host Keith Olbermann’s comparison of the Obama-GOP tax compromise to Nazi appeasement, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs denounced the comparison in today’s press briefing.
“I would say this to Democrats or Republicans, whenever you compare anything to what the Nazis did, if you ever get to that point in your speech, stop,” Gibbs answered. “Because nothing does, and hopefully, God willing, nothing ever will.”
He also said that he “doubt[ed] the President heard” the Olbermann remark. Apparently, MSNBC, like the New York Times editorial page, “does not permeate across America.”
