I’ve gotten a lot of reaction to my Times op-ed yesterday. Most left-wing emails and bloggers say that I’m deluding myself, and that a three-seat Pelosi majority will prove to be the opening stage of a liberal revolution. Conservative bloggers and emailers have been evenly split pro and con. (A lot of them seem to me, though, to be failing to focus on the key question I raised: Is a small-margin Democratic House preferable to a small-margin Republican one? I can certainly see reasonable arguments on both sides of this question.)
See Dean Barnett’s take, which is too generous to me; the debate in his combox is also worthwhile. My friend Orrin Judd says that I am displaying a “conservative terror of governance,” which I think is silly.
