While drafting my next installment in The Amazing Power of The Culture series, I ran across this quote:
People enter marriage with a variety of expectations. For many individuals, children, family, and the future may not be at the top of the list.
But while a man and a woman are entitled to marry without making children the focus of their relationship, they are not entitled to demand that society restructure the institution of marriage to suit their ends. For those ends are purely private, and government really has no business aiding or hindering the enterprise in any way.
