Who’s War Is It Anyway?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said:

But like it or not, George W. Bush is still the commander in chief — and this is his war.”

Actually, like it or not, it’s America’s war.

Reid is like a sailor who thinks if his ship sinks, only the captain will drown.

Or maybe it’s worse than that. Maybe he thinks that if America’s defeat can bring partisan benefit, the trade-off is a good one. If so, that’s shameful. See this related piece by Reuel Marc Gerecht.
