Why Sports Jackets Are Called That

I have a sports jacket so “loud” that a physicist friend used to tell me if I stood between two parallel mirrors while wearing it, I’d lase. (That’s a physics joke.) Wearing it, I am visible at 800 yards in bad light.

That’s why it’s called a sports jacket. “Sports” as in shooting.
