At this point, you’ve really got to wonder why Republicans would want to subject themselves to another two or — if he were to return to the White House — six years of ducking and covering during Trump outrages. Pretty much everyone else in the party is mumbling and looking at his or her shoes. Maybe that approach was understandable when Trump was president and nothing was going to change that fact, or his behavior. But now better choices are available who wouldn’t constantly force fellow Republicans to dodge reporters and hide their true feelings about dumb and poisonous comments and conduct.
