Will Perez and Coburn Spar Again?

In 2006, Obama labor secretary nominee Thomas Perez wrote a nasty op-ed in Mother Jones, criticizing Senator Tom Coburn for his amendment (which didn’t go anywhere) that would have overturned a Clinton executive order that resulted in some doctors being forced to hire translators for medical patients with limited to no English. Three years later, Perez was up to be confirmed by the Senate for a post at the Justice Department — and Coburn hadn’t forgotten. Read my piece here
