In 2006, Obama labor secretary nominee Thomas Perez wrote a nasty op-ed in Mother Jones, criticizing Senator Tom Coburn for his amendment (which didn’t go anywhere) that would have overturned a Clinton executive order that resulted in some doctors being forced to hire translators for medical patients with limited to no English.
