Will: White House Press Room Now a Third Legislative Chamber

Washington Post columnist and Fox News contributor George Will quipped that President Obama’s behavior has made the White House press chamber into a new branch of government. “We’re told in grade school when we study civics that . . . there are two legislative chambers in the federal government, the Senate and the House. Turns out there’s a third: It’s called the White House press room, into which the president can sashay, on a whim, and rewrite laws. It’s an extraordinary civics lesson.”

The president’s announcement on Thursday, Will said, “looks to a great many of us to be illegal.”
