On Monday’s Special Report, George Will criticized the Obama administration’s messaging about the threat the Islamic State poses to the United States’ homeland. Will spoke about the conflicting messages conveyed by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“The fact is that the, we have all along, the administration has had an exaggerated sense of its ability to finely calibrate the ISIS threat,” Will said. “Now [the Obama administration is] saying, as you indicated, ‘Well if we bomb in Syria, across the fictional border in Syria, which has been erased, we might help Assad.’ I want someone to explain to me quite why we want Assad to go at this point.”
