Will’s Take: Obama’s Implementing the Iraq Policy That He Promised

In his retreat from Iraq, President Obama is sticking true to his word, says George Will. 

“The president is in fact implementing the policy he promised,” he said on Thursday’s Special Report. “It was retrenchment by one word, retreat by another.” Will notes that Obama is following the policy that potential presidential candidate Hillary Clinton helped implement ”without expressing any qualms.”

Obama’s policy is also what the American public showed in polls that it wants right now, Will explains. ”It wants it,” he said, “at least until it gets queasy by looking at the pictures they’ve been seeing tonight.”
