Worse Than Last Year…

…in this respect, an e-mail from a Senate insider notes: “One other thing to note, under 2611 (last year’s) approximately 2 million recent arrivals were ineligible for lpr (legal permanent residence) b/c the theory was only long-time people needed accommodating.  So they set the cut off at, I think, a date two years earlier.  With this bill even those 2 million get lpr b/c they put the cut-off date a couple of months ago.  So the numbers of lprs increased under this bill.”
