Well, we fell a handful of votes short on New START. But it was worth the fight: 1) It’s a bad treaty; 2) This thing was on a knife’s edge a few days ago, and we very well could have defeated it; 3) This is a shot across the bow for the rest of the administration’s arms-control agenda, as the New York Times noted today.
