The Corner

The Wrap-Up

–Some people are saying that Hunter, Tancredo and Paul aren’t adding much to the field at this point. I disagree — I’m still waiting for clarity about their respective positions on China, immigration and the need for a robust central bank.

–Upon reflection, Byron’s transcript helped put Romney’s “First, kill all the terrorists and let the lawyers sort ‘em out” answer about where to derive National Security authority in a better light. But it’s still mindbogglingly awful.

–I think enough people were expecting Thompson to tank that he might have actually exceeded expectations by turning in a solid performance that got better as the debate went on. Though he has to set himself apart next time…

–Giuliani appears to be leading the field by virtue of being the most consistent guy in the field. That said, he’s reliably hitting singles. I don’t feel like I’ve seen a home run from him yet.

–McCain staking out a right-to-work position in Detroit should be big news.
