As was inevitable, fugitive Democrats are going back to Texas and Republicans will get their quorum for redistricting.
The way these things always work is that Democrats leave their state in a showy protest; get lots of media attention, which distracts them temporarily from the fact that there are living in a Holiday Inn Express somewhere (I did Jim Acosta’s podcast!); and then the attention fades, and they are still living in a Holiday Inn Express away from their family and their jobs, and “defending democracy” doesn’t look so fun anymore.
