Yes?

Michael contends that “media seems to have lost all interest” in the drama surrounding the administration’s aborted pause on the provision of arms to Ukraine. That’s a wholly supportable observation insofar as the national press has moved on to what we might call “deep summer stories” — the Epstein fracas, kiss-cam scandals, and whatnot.

Media’s disinterest is not, however, reflective of public sentiment. The latest Fox News Channel bipartisan survey released last night found that the number of Americans who want the United States “to do more for Ukraine” has spiked by 15 points over the course of the last few weeks.

The jump is fueled by increased interest across the political spectrum, including “Democrats (+22 points), independents (+14), and Republicans (+9).” All told, 38 percent of respondents back “doing more,” and 32 percent support “doing the right amount,” whatever that means. Only 27 percent in Fox’s survey told pollsters the U.S. should be “doing less.” Just one-third of Trump’s 2024 voters count themselves in that camp.

And, lo, the Trump administration has heard the clamoring throngs, and he has acted:

Media may have forgotten about the conflict, though that is probably an ephemeral condition. Fortunately, the American voting public and their elected leaders have not.
