In the latest G-File, I mentioned my fondness for creatively edited salty dialog. When R-rated movies make it to broadcast TV, some of the lines have to be changed for the good of the Republic. I said my favorite was from Scarface (“This town’s just a great big chicken waiting to get plucked!”). But many objected. The most votes came in for the “Yippee-ki-yay, Mr. Falcon!” from the broadcast edit of Die Hard. But this line from the Big Lebowski made me laugh the most: ”This is what happens, Larry! This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps!”
Anyway, Mental Floss has a very good list of these things. I particularly like this “improvement” to Snakes on a Plane: “I have had it with these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane!”
