Amy, sure Hillary may be shrill, charmless and brittle. But she has Authority or its reasonable facsimile. That’s what the voters respond to more than anything else. The way to combat her is provide a strong, calm and measured opposition of equal or greater authority–and when she makes a mistake, which she has occasionally done, hit her very hard but with icier politeness than even she can muster.
