Joe Biden memorably informed us that it would “not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy.” Nope. It would be less than 24 hours, if Russia’s latest provocations on missile defense are any indication. President Medvedev says that unless the United States halts the limited missile-defense site it plans to build in the Czech Republic and Poland, he’ll order the deployment of short-range missiles along the western border of his country. So we’ll see whether Obama moves forward with an important national-security project or bows to the demands of Russia.
