Washington — At a press conference this afternoon, a group of pro-life Republican senators and House members spoke out against Obamacare’s abortion provisions. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R., Utah) says if they are enacted via the “Slaughter rule,” then they’ll be “unconstitutional.” Sen. Sam Brownback (R., Kan.), Sen. Mike Johanns (R., Neb.), Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R., Wash.), and Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) joined Hatch. Rodgers called the state of the debate “chilling” while Brownback admitted that in the “eleventh hour,” chances of getting pro-life language were dimming.
