Election Night

Congressional Candidates with National-Security Experience Win Big

Republicans Liz Cheney and Mike Gallagher will be heading to Capitol Hill. The newly elected members of Congress — Cheney from Wyoming’s at-large district and Gallagher from Wisconsin’s eighth district — will bring national-security expertise to the entering congressional class. Cheney was the state department’s deputy assistant secretary for near eastern affairs. Gallagher was a counter-intelligence officer.
