McMullin Falls Short, Trump Wins Utah

Fox News projects that Donald Trump will win Utah.

Although the Beehive state has voted for the Republican nominee since 1968, independent candidate Evan McMullin became a viable challenger in the weeks leading up to the election. McMullin, a former CIA operative and Utah native, announced his candidacy in August, hoping to give voters a conservative alternative to the major-party nominees. Had he won the state, he would have been the first independent candidate to win electoral votes since George Wallace in 1968.
