We knew that euthanasia’s prime (but not only) targets are–and always will be–the disabled. But it is refreshing to see a zealot for doctor-administered death admit it.
Euthanasia Prevention Coalition international chair, Alex Schadenberg, and others debated Belgian euthanasia advocates. Schadenberg reports that during the discussion, an author of the Belgian law admitted he designed it as a way to allow the killing of suicidal disabled people. From Schadenberg’s blog:
Finally [Etienne] Vermeersch explained that the euthanasia law was specifically designed to allow people with disabilities or chronic conditions to die by euthanasia. When Dr Kevin Fitzpatrick, the director of EPC Europe and a leader of Not Dead Yet UK asked him to clarify his statement, he said: “Just wait until you are paralyzed.”
Of course! That’s where the “high quality organs” are!
