“Ecocide” Radicals Punish Tar Sands Executives

The radical pro-poverty “ecocide” champions held a fictional trial against two CEOs. Their terrible crime: Extracting oil from the Alberta tar sands to bring oil, energy, transportation, heating, and affluence to a thirsty world.

Ecocide is the spear to “nature rights” development preventing shield, intended not to just punish polluting accidents such as the Exxon Valdez, but rather, to prevent humans from developing resources and engaging in large scale development projects by making such actions a “crime against peace,” akin to genocide and ethnic cleansing.  In other words, it would keep people and companies from creating jobs, developing wealth, exploiting resources, and improving the human condition when it was deemed as unduly interfering with flora and fauna.  Or to put it another way, it would impede human thriving by criminalizing the very economic and industrial that allow us to escape
