The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart fell for the fake Twitter account of fictional California conservative Jack Kimble of the California 54th and proceeded to write a rather long blog post on the tweet, making sure his readers knew that the faux-Republican had no idea what he was talking about.
Everyone makes mistakes, but it seems pretty clear that if Capehart had done even a minimal amount of investigation, he’d discover that this is a fictional account. You can check out the Twitter feed of “Rep. Kimble” here and judge for yourself.
