Couric vs. Williams vs. Gibson

Maybe Katie Couric’s ratings are so low because Brian Williams and Charlie Gibson never write things like this on their blogs:

I remember someone telling me, “Never trust anyone with more than one tattoo and less than two earrings. I think they meant I should avoid people in carnival sideshows and pirates. But then rock and roll and Johnny Depp came along, and I found myself, indeed, hanging with ear-ringed hipsters with, I’m sure, way more than one tattoo.
I believe there was a study once that equated the number of tattoos with criminal behavior, but you can’t say that every third kid in college is a criminal. And if tattoos were really that bad, Pamela Anderson would have to sleep alone at night and heavy metal musicians would be celibate.

Great example, except that Pamela Anderson is dying because of her tattoos and her heavy metal, never-celibate musician:

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) – Actress Pamela Anderson disclosed Wednesday she has hepatitis C and said she contracted the serious liver disease from sharing a tattoo needle with her ex-husband, rock musician Tommy Lee.
In a statement released Wednesday, Anderson said she has undergone outpatient treatment for the disease at UCLA Medical Center.
“Tommy has the disease and never disclosed it to me during our marriage,” said Anderson, who is in a custody battle with Lee over their two children.
She accused Lee of telling others she had the disease, which she had intended to keep private.
