Defender of Civil Political Discourse to Sarah Palin: “[Blank] You!”

Jon Stewart fancies himself the witty referee of American political discourse, frequently skewering pundits (especially on the right) for rhetorical excesses and partisan invective. He famously drove this point home in a Crossfire appearance during which lectured the hosts about their program’s negative impact on the national dialogue.
Mary Katharine Ham reports on Stewart criticizing Sarah Palin for being too divisive by distorting her positions, mocking her accent, and hurling an F-bomb at her. My, isn’t he clever? If anyone calls him on it, I’m sure he’ll promptly resort to his go-to defense: “Don’t mind me, I’m just a comedian!”
