Fugitive Militant Is Killed

Hezbollah said fugitive militant Imad Mughniyeh, one of America’s most wanted, has been killed by Israeli agents. Israel denied involvement. Mughniyeh was believed to be the mastermind of the 1983 attack on the U.S. Marine compound in Beirut.

For background, please see my earlier post. Since then, one reader of my post whom I know, someone with knowledge of American intelligence circles, tells me that Mughniyeh was also the prime suspect for the torturous murders of CIA Station Chief William Buckley and U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Rich Higgins.
