Fox Tops CNN by a Nickel

When it comes to which networks cable operators perceive to be the most valuable, a trio of Disney-owned channel sit atop the medal podium.

According to Beta Research’s annual “Cable Operator Study: Evaluation of Basic Cable Networks” study, ESPN ranked first with an ascribed monthly value of 93 cents, to finish well ahead of ESPN2 at 53 cents and Disney Channel at 42 cents.

Fox News Channel was fourth at 40 cents, followed by Discovery Channel and TNT (36 cents apiece); CNN (35 cents); USA Network (34 cents), NFL Network (33 cents), Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite and TBS (each at 32 cents); The Weather Channel (31 cents).

As the reader points out, the Olbermann-Maddow network doesn’t even make the list. Maybe if the researchers priced in farthings.
