I was enjoying the Duke/Georgetown hoops game on Saturday — until President Obama’s smiling face appeared on my television screen. He wasn’t merely in attendance at the Verizon Center as a spectator; he was a guest on the telecast, bantering with the broadcasters. CBS ran footage of Obama scrimmaging with the UNC squad last year. They joked about his left-handedness, leading him to quip about his ability to handle the right, too. Har.
Nobody begrudges the president a little fun on a Saturday afternoon. But he’s ubiquitous–even inescapable at times. This president is constantly on television. Coupled with the news that the Obama/Holder Justice Department is meddling with the college football BCS, I couldn’t help but think, “please, leave us alone.“
