Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran took a swipe at Chicago politicians Thursday — including Mayor Daley — for failing to control illegal immigration and rising crime.
“How many public school kids did we have to bury last year because of Mayor Daley’s inability to keep a lid on crime even with a chief of police that earns more than $320,000 a year?” Curran said in statement released Thursday.
Curran said city officials and state legislators have shown little interest in working with federal officials to control illegal immigration, “choosing instead to ignore the problem — or worse — to pander to special interest groups and their sympathizers.”
Illinois state legislators? Didn’t Obama used to be one of those?
