Jackass Ryan Dunn Was Drunk When He Crashed

No real shocker:

PHILADELPHIA – “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn had a blood-alcohol content that was more than twice the legal limit when he and a passenger died in a fiery one-car crash this week, according to a toxicology report.

Police also say Dunn’s Porsche may have been traveling as fast as 140 mph in a 55 mph zone when it jumped a guardrail, flew into a wooded ravine, struck a tree and burst into flames.

His blood-alcohol level was 0.196 at the time of the Monday morning crash, according to the toxicology report released Wednesday by West Goshen Township Police. The legal limit for drivers is .08.

And here’s the best summary I could find of what Dunn had to drink on that night:

OVER THE course of four hours Sunday night into Monday, employees at Barnaby’s of America in West Chester served Ryan Dunn six shots and two beers, but the “Jackass” star never appeared visibly intoxicated.

Then there were the drinks at the back table.

At the end of the night, out of the bartender’s sight, friends and fans bought Dunn, 34, three more drinks before he got behind the wheel of his high-powered Porsche 911 GT3, according to Sgt. William La Torre, of the State Police Bureau of Liquor Enforcement.

Dunn’s blood-alcohol level was 0.196, more than double Pennsylvania’s .08 legal limit, according to toxicology results released yesterday by West Goshen police.

Dunn is listed at 5′9″, but I can’t find an estimate of his weight. Let’s call it 200 lbs. Under this scenario, after drinking 2 beers and 6 shots in four hours, Dunn’s BAC would be .095, over the legal limit. Add 5 more shots from the unidentified drinks from the fans, and you get to .196.

But how drunk is .196? That’s easy, very:

Using the calculator linked to above, I’ve calculated the number of shots I’d have to drink at my weight to equal a .196 over four hours. It’s 20. And yes, I’ve had that much to drink before and I could barely get off the couch let alone drive home.
