Keeping Up With the Khadafis

What’s wrong with this picture?

Today’s news:

Libya on Thursday freed 88 Islamists and announced it will demolish Abu Slim prison, notorious for what human rights groups say was a 1996 massacre in which more than 1,000 prisoners were killed.

The Islamists with Al-Qaeda links walked out of the Tripoli prison, an AFP correspondent at the scene reported.

The Kadhafi Foundation, headed by Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi’s son Seif al-Islam, confirmed the planned closure of Abu Slim, saying the remaining inmates would be transferred to another jail.

Last month’s news:

The Obama Administration plans to give $400,000 in funding to a Libyan charity run by the Gadhafi family…

The money would be divided between two foundations run by the family of Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi. A $200,000 share is set to go to the Gadhafi Development Foundation, which is run by Gadhafi’s son, Saif, and another $200,000 are to go to Wa Attassimou, an organization run by Muammar Gadhafi’s daughter, Aisha.

Is the mere appeasement of  hostile regimes not enough for this administration?  Must we blow them taxpayer funded kisses, too?

Obama defenders may object that the $400K “charity” gift to Khadafi’s son was announced before he orchestrated this recent release of hardened jihadists. Yeah, who could’ve possibly predicted something like that happening?
