Newsweek: The Sky is Really Falling This Time. Really.

Summary of Newsweek’s kinda-culpa on its “global cooling” story from 1975: We were wrong on global cooling because the climate scientists were wrong, but we know the scientists are right on global warming because (according to climate scientist William Connolly) there’s more of a “consensus” this time.

First, Newsweek’s admission that it got the “global cooling” story wrong calls to mind Pope John Paul II’s apology to Galileo over the whole geocentrism kerfuffle. Second, impending climate disasters sell magazines. We get it.
