The NYT Finds the Dark Cloud in the Silver Lining on the Economy Today

In an editorial.

As a friend sums it up:

You may have heard that more than 6.8 million new jobs have been created in the last three years, or that the economy has grown faster than any other major industrialized nation over the past four quarters, or that a steep drop in gas prices is keeping costs down for American families, or that after-tax income is up by nearly 10 percent since President Bush took office, or that the unemployment rate is at a 5-year low. But forget all that—the NY Times editorial board has found the dark cloud in that silver lining and determined, despite the all the good economic news for real families, that: increased wages are a “sign of coming layoffs,” and that millions of new jobs are just “an aberration.”
