Here’s their headline today:
MSNBC Is Close to Falling to Third Place in Cable News Ratings
And the lede:
How badly has MSNBC been hurt by the loss of Keith Olbermann? Enough, apparently, to be on the verge of falling back into third place among the cable news networks.
Well, not really. If you look at the long-term ratings of MSNBC and CNN, you’ll see that there isn’t much difference between second and third place. Take last Wednesday for example. Fox dominates at every hour, with MSNBC, CNN, and HLN picking up what’s left.
What’s more interesting is that Roger Ailes said to Howard Kurtz that he’s nudging Fox News toward the center. We’ll see how that works out in the ratings.
