NYT Recycles ‘Mac vs. PC’ Storyline

Yesterday’s New York Times included a piece about the hardy bunch of “outnumbered, outspent, and generally outgunned” McCain supporters on American college campuses. It’s a fairly interesting read, but one throwaway line drew my ire:

“They are supporting a candidate at some odds with the young: Mr. McCain voted for the war in Iraq, has admitted that he does not know how to use a computer and would be the oldest person ever elected to a first term as president.” (Emphasis mine).

Haven’t we seen this charge before? Apparently the Times missed the entire kerfuffle over this tired, irrelevant, and dishonorable attack on Sen. McCain. Even Obama’s running mate called such criticism “terrible.”
