Now, I believe John McCain is a good man and a genuine American hero. And we honor his half-century of service to this nation.
And then in College Park, Maryland:
Later, taking a brief swipe at the likely Republican nominee, Obama said, “I’m looking forward to mixing it up with John McCain. I admire John McCain’s half century of service to this country.” The line drew laughter, apparently due to reference to the length of McCain’s service.
